Required Unsubscribe and SenderAddress Merge Fields for Email Sent with Marketing Tools

Each piece of content which you send with our marketing tools must contain the ##Unsubscribe## and ##SenderAddress## merge fields. When you create a mailing or schedule a drip campaign, your content will be checked for these required merge fields. If they are not found, we will alert you and automatically append a footer to your message which will contain these merge fields.

These merge fields may be typed as plain text in your email content, or you may use the merge field picker which can be found on the right side of the screen when editing text or HTML.

SenderAddress Merge Field

The ##SenderAddress## merge field is required and will be replaced by the company name and address that you specify with the mailing or drip campaign.

Unsubscribe Merge Fields For Designer And HTML Content

The ##Unsubscribe## merge field or the ##UnsubscribeLink## ##/UnsubscribeLink## merge field pair is required. The ##Unsubscribe## merge field will be replaced with an unsubscribe link using “Unsubscribe” as the link text. The ##UnsubscribeLink## ##/UnsubscribeLink## merge field pair allows further customization and when used, an unsubscribe link will be created using the text specified between the fields for the link text. For example
##UnsubscribeLink##Click here to unsubscribe ##/UnsubscribeLink## will result in an unsubscribe link using “Click here to unsubscribe” as the link text.

Unsubscribe Merge Field For Plain Text Content

The ##UnsubscribeLink## ##/UnsubscribeLink## merge field pair are not supported for text content. The ##Unsubscribe## must be used and will be replaced with:

Unsubscribe: [link]

where [link] is the link/URL of the SocketLabs unsubscribe page, as seen below.
