Message Throttling

New accounts are temporarily rate-limited to ensure deliverability.

When a new account is created at SocketLabs, mail will be limited to send at a slower rate than normal. This is because large inbox providers, such as Gmail and Microsoft, are not used to seeing mail with this combination of your from domain and sending IP address.

Throttling Adjustments

As the large inbox providers get used to your mail, your account's rate limiting restrictions will automatically adjust. During this timeframe, it's critical to send mail in line with email best practices, to ensure you do not encounter potential deliverability issues. A high spam complaint or high bounce rates to inbox providers will affect your delivery during this period and potentially prolong rate limiting.

For some businesses, rate-limiting is unnecessary and can be adjusted by opening a support ticket.
